Updates at the Child & Youth Development Clinic
Listed below are a number of urgent supports in the community, should these resources be of interest.
Cognitive & Academic Screening Assessment Program
A screening assessment for students (5-8 years of age; entering SK to grade 3) to provide non-diagnostic information on their cognitive, processing and academic skills in reading and mathematics. This information may be used for early intervention efforts at home and school. Since the goal of this assessment is to provide early screening information, a diagnosis would not be provided as part of this process.
The assessment consists of a single appointment (2.5 hours in length with breaks built-in). Services are provided by CYDC Graduate Student Clinicians working under the supervison of Dr. Colin King, Psychologist and Elizabeth Skirving, Speech and Language Pathologist.
If the standard fee of $250.00 poses a barrier to participation, please contact either Dr. King or Leesa Couper to discuss possible options. Assessment are being booked on specfic days/times throughout July and August to align with the availability of the student clinicians.
