Child and Youth Development Clinic Psychology Internship 2018-2019

The Child and Youth Development Clinic (CYDC) is offering a paid one-year psychology internship in London, Ontario with a focus on preparing the psychology resident(s) for autonomous practice as a psychologist with competencies in school and child clinical psychology. Working with other graduate student clinician team members (psychology; speech and language pathology; social work) in a unique multidisciplinary clinic setting, psychology residents will have the opportunity to develop proficiency in assessment, intervention and therapy (individual and group), and consultation with children and youth presenting with a variety of psychological, developmental/learning, and/or mental health/social-emotional concerns. With the CYDC as a cost-neutral clinic setting, psychology residents will have the opportunity to develop skills working within a fee-for-service structure and in working with vulnerable or disadvantaged family and child populations presenting with a variety of clinical and family concerns.

The CYDC internship is not accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA). Applications are open to students who are Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents of Canada or non-Canadians attending a Canadian graduate psychology program AND who already have documentations/permits allowing them to work in Canada during the period of the residency (September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2020). Students must be enrolled in a doctoral program in clinical or school psychology accredited by the Canadian and/or American Psychological Associations or doctoral programs working toward future accreditation.
